204 MPs vote for Finance Bill, 115 MPs reject it.

On Thursday, June 20, 2024, following the conclusion of the second reading, House clerks gather to count the ballots. With 204 votes, the Finance Bill, 2024 has cleared the second reading stage.

After the second reading of the Finance Bill, 2024, MPs have completed their voting, and the counting process has begun.

By acclamation rather than secret ballot, MPs cast their votes.

After the discussion of each clause in light of the Finance Committee's report, a vote was held.

The Bill will go to the Committee of the Whole House if it passes the second reading with a simple majority.

At this point, each of the proposed Bill amendments is examined and put to a vote.

After that, the clauses—amendments included or not—will be approved by the Committee of the Whole House.

The Bill will go to the final step for Third reading after it has been approved by the House committee, at which point Members will vote.

On Tuesday, June 25, this last stage is anticipated.
