Hassan Omar has been confirmed by the Office of Registrar of Political Parties as a new Secretary General of the Democratic Alliance UDA after Cleophas Malala was removed from the position.

Hassan Omar has been confirmed by the Office of Registrar of Political Parties as a new Secretary General of the DemocraticAlliance UDA after Cleophas Malala was removed fromtheposition.
Speaking on Monday, Political Parties Registrar Ann Nderituencouraged the ruling party to resolve its grassroots electionnot later than 180days to solve the defeat of having current officials holding office on an interim groundwork.
The party’s National Executive Committee NEC canceledtheappointment of Malala as its SG and assigned Omar whowasthe vice chairperson to serve as an interim. On the other hand a section of UDA members claimedthat
Malala sabotaged the party’s progress which was formedbyparty leader president William Ruto and his ODMcounterpart
Raila Odinga. Led by lawyer Joe Khalende they also accused Malala runningthe party processes conducting elections which in the past havebeen impaired by chaos
