One of the two people who survived the horrific KDF helicopter crash was Frankford Karanja Mogire.

Following the catastrophic April 18 helicopter crash, which resulted in the deaths of nine Kenya Defence Forces personnel, among them the distinguished General Francis Ogolla, the Chief of Defence, an inspiring tale of survival against all odds surfaced.

As one of the two incredible survivors of the horrific catastrophe, Frankford Karanja Mogire is a ray of hope amid grief.

Frankford is an experienced writer and photographer for the Ministry of Defence, whose life and career have been anything from typical.

He has devoted his life—often at personal risk—to documenting the pivotal moments of our country's protectors since April 2018.

Frankford, who was raised with a sense of adventure, enjoys hiking, travel, culture, and photography.

He is not just a skilled visual storyteller, having studied journalism and mass communication at Mount Kenya University from 2014 to 2016, but he is also a trained journalist.

In 2015, he also worked for Hope Channel Kenya as a camera operator.

His skill set is outstanding, and he has a knack for handling weaponry.

Isaac Ameex Ali, one of his pals, wished him a speedy recovery on social media as the country laments the passing of its brave troops.

"I didn't know you were among the victims but I thank God you came out safe. Tumetoka mbali sana Frankford Karanja tumefunzana mengi na tumeongea mengi. Get well soon, bro. This has been the saddest day ever on earth," he said.
