It was a welcome win for the blues after they beat Swiss side Servette 2-0 in a Europa Confrence League fixture on Thursday night. Goals from Chelsea forwards Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke ensured that the Stamford Bridge outfit won the playoff fixture.

The victory also marked the first victory of the Maresca era, with glimpses of what kind of football the Italian tactician wants his team to play on display.

Chelsea played with a very high tempo with quick one touch passes and decisive runs by midfield palyers with new signing Kieran Dewsbury Hall showing why the London outfit spent 35 million Euros to acquire his services.

The English midfilder made a good run from deep in Chelsea's territory and almost gave his first Chelsea assist with an incisive pass to new signing Marc Guiu who was unable to finish.

Moments later French international Christopher Nkunku was taken down in the penalty box and converted the penalty handing Chelsea a 1-0 lead.

It was not to be for the Swiss outfit Servette as Noni Madueke outclassed thier defenders dispatching a powerful close range shot into goal giving Chelsea a comfortable win.
