Umoja 3 Fire Kills Two Children

Two children have lost their lives after a deadly fire razed down residencies in Umoja 3 Estate, Nairobi county.

A witness told reporters that the fire had started at around 9pm in one of the houses on Thursday night and had rapidly spread to neighbouring houses.

The children who succumbed in the inferno are aged 4 and 5 years and they were burnt beyond recognition after efforts to rescue them from the fire proved futile.

The fire destroyed properties worth millions while leaving several residents in the area homeless. Businesses in the building were also affected.
