SUNEKA: 80-YR-OLD MOTHER AND HER DAUGHTER MURDERED OVER A LAND DISPUTE

After an old woman and her daughter were brutally murdered in a village in Suneka, Kisii County, on Saturday, four suspects were taken into custody.

 They were slain early on Saturday, March 16, as a result of a family land dispute.

 The deaths of 80-year-old Jane Kerubo Mogambi and her 35-year-old daughter Damaceline Nyatuka Mogambi were discovered in a home following a savage murder, according to the police.

 Nyatuka's body was discovered lying in a bloody pool, her right hand fractured and her skull severely slashed.

 Once at the hospital, Kerubo passed away. On her body, she also had severe cuts.

 Both dead had been slain because of land disputes, preliminary investigations had shown.

 Police said Nyatuka's mother intended to give her a plot of land and that she had come home following a failed marriage.

 Some members of the household were tense as a result.

 They were not abruptly murdered in the residence until Saturday.

 While conducting their inquiry, police arrived on the site, gathered the remains, and took them to the mortuary.

 A homicide investigation included an autopsy scheduled at the neighborhood mortuary.

 The relatives of the dead are among those being held. To find out if there were additional suspects in the murder, police stated that they were conducting investigations.

 As the investigation proceeded, the investigators intended to present the suspects in court along with a miscellaneous application to detain them for a fortnight.

 Land issues are the primary cause of the increase in these murder events in the area.
