KNEC to Carry out A Pilot Study Prior to the Grade 9 Exam

A pilot project for 2024 Grade 8 and Pre-vocational students has been launched by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
The goal of this program is to get students ready for the Grade 9 summative exam that will take place the following year.
The pilot study will be conducted in 2024 between July 15 and July 19.
Evaluating the viability of the suggested national assessment and verifying the efficacy and dependability of the test instruments and other crucial processes are KNEC's main objectives.
"The aim of the pilot study is to ascertain the viability of the suggested national evaluation and pinpoint the authenticity and dependability of the examination tools and additional crucial protocols," the post on X stated.
According to KNEC, this pilot project is based on its attempts to guarantee that the Grade 9 summative evaluation is thorough and useful.
The goal of KNEC is to improve the overall quality and accuracy of the national examinations by identifying any problems and optimizing the assessment instruments.
When the summative evaluation is finally implemented in 2025, the pilot study's findings will offer insightful information.
