DCI: All bodies retrieved at Kware are female killed in similar way
"The alarm was raised following the discovery of six severely mutilated bodies, all female, in various stages of decomposition."
Six bodies have been recovered from a closed quarry near Kware, according to confirmation from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Six female bodies, according to the DCI, had all been killed in the same way.
Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin said in a statement that the remains were in different stages of decay and had been terribly disfigured.
"Earlier today at approximately 1100hrs, the Embakasi Division Police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) responded to an urgent call from the public in the Villa area of Mukuru kwa Njenga," stated Amin.
"The alarm was raised following the discovery of six severely mutilated bodies, all female, in various stages of decomposition."
Nylon papers and nylon ropes, he claimed, were used to wrap the bodies.
It was found at an abandoned quarry that is today a dump with water in it.
Amin continued, "The Embakasi Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) team was there in a flash, removing the bodies and taking pictures of the scene."
In anticipation of a postmortem, the bodies have been brought to the Nairobi Funeral Home (City Mortuary).
"Homicide detectives and officers from the Forensics Division of the DCI are currently analysing samples to identify the bodies," he continued.
For the duration of the investigation, the area has been roped off and labeled as a crime scene.
While the inquiry is ongoing, Amin urged Kenyans to assist the police.
