In Karandit village, Kuresoi South, Nakuru County, Five teenagers are in hospital nursing their injuries after lightning struck a house they were sheltering in. The victim’s mother Emily Cheruiot said she asked one of the teens to put down his phone due to possible dangers that might occur while raining.
Cheruiot said, “Lightning struck at 6.30 pm following heavy rains and it struck the youths whom we were together in the same room. All of them fell to the ground and crawled using their stomach. James Langat, one of the residents, said the victims were rushed for medical treatment at Keringet Nursing Home and Olenguruone sub-county hospitals.
