Malawi Vice President Saulis Chilima Dead

President Lazarus Chakwera has declared Vice President Saulis Chilima dead after the plane he was travelling in disappeared mysteriously yesterday. President Chakwera declared Tuesday a national mourning day after his VP and 9 others demised in the plane crash.

The plane that Saulis Chilima was travelling in had disappeared and the Malawi National Guard have been looking for the plane for the past 24 hours.

Airport officials confirmed that the plane was unable to land at Mzuzu Airport due to poor visibility and the pilot was told to return to Lilongwe Airport when the flight disappeared.
