Actor, producer, writer, and comedian John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, is a native of Nigeria.

 In Enugu State, he was born on October 17, 1961.

 On March 3, 2024, Mr. Ibu passed away at the age of 62

 The seasoned performer was one of Nigeria's best comedic actors.

 He had an advantage in the Nigerian comedy film industry because of his capacity to convey humor through a comical expression and simulate stupidity.

 Education

Following his secondary school graduation, Mr. Ibu enrolled at the Yola College of Education, but he left early due to financial issues.

 Later, he enrolled to seek a degree at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu.

 Career

When John Okafor first entered the Nigerian film industry in 1998, producers would not allow him to show off his skills in important films, therefore he was unable to land high-paying roles.

He became well-known in 2004 thanks to his role in the popular comedy film "Mr. Ibu." He played a troubled son's father. As the son, Osita Iheme played the part.

The group produced a hilarious movie that was extensively viewed around the nation and acknowledged as the best comedy endeavor of its day.

Nigerian Comic Actor of the Year 2005: He won the Africa Movie Academy Award for his role in the movie.

In the movie, he also adopted the moniker "Mr. Ibu."

In more than 200 Nollywood productions, Okafor has acted in roles in movies such as Keziah, Mr. Ibu in Prison, Police Recruit, Mr. Ibu in London, Coffin Producers, Husband Suppliers, and Mr. Ibu and His Son.

After a protracted battle with blood clots on his leg, veteran actor John Okafor, often known as Mr. Ibu, passed away. In a Lagos state hospital on Saturday, March 2, the actor passed away.

 Due to broken blood arteries, the actor battled blood clots on his leg for years in addition to other health problems.

 He came forward in October 2023 to ask for money to treat his illness. His doctors determined he wasn't well enough to travel, despite the plans to send him overseas for further medical attention.

 As part of his rehabilitation, he underwent a leg amputation in November 2023.

 The actor's spouse and kids are still alive. It was 1962 when he was born.
