Why do Children Suddenly Change Attitudes towards Their Parents?
Children's self-esteem is bolstered by positive reinforcement. When parents don't recognize their kids' accomplishments and hard work, the kids could feel unworthy.
Being a parent is a positive thing and you get respect from others. However, some parents find parenting challenging, while others find it easy.
All parents invest a great deal of love and energy into parenting their children because they want them to grow up to be kind and well-connected people.
Parents make mistakes that cause their kids to grow distant from them throughout this stage of parenting.
The main reason is a lack of emotional openness. A child's development greatly depends on emotional availability. It's common for kids to feel abandoned when a parent occasionally becomes emotionally unavailable because of personal or professional stress.
Although children require discipline, some parents go above and beyond in their strictness. The majority of parents are strict dads and mothers. All they say is final. A child finds a method to rebel against this, which causes them to grow emotionally aloof.
Children's emotional detachment might also be attributed to a lack of quality time spent together. Due to employment, a lot of young parents nowadays do not spend enough time with their kids. Our kids believe we don't love them because they perceive us to value work more than they do. Spending quality time with their children is beneficial since it fosters strong bonds between parents and children.
Children also become indifferent due to unresolved parental conflicts. Youngsters who observe parental disagreements are more prone to experience emotional and behavioral issues. Children may use indifference as a sort of protection if they feel uneasy or anxious as a result of this.
Children's self-esteem is bolstered by positive reinforcement. When parents don't recognize their kids' accomplishments and hard work, the kids could feel unworthy. When parents recognize their kids' hard work, the kids form strong emotional connections with them. Children may feel less deserving of respect if they receive little recognition.
When we see signs of indifference in our children's behavior, as young parents we should recognize the importance of making time for them and, before acting, try to identify the underlying causes of their indifference.
