2 politicians accused of setting CDF offices on fire, and a Ksh23M vehicle
The two ran unsuccessfully for elected posts during the 2022 General Elections.

The charges of arson and malicious property damage have been brought against two politicians in a Kiambu court.
The two, Joseph Kuru Waweru and Naftary David Njama Gatuota, were accused of participating in the Ksh20 million firebombing of the Kikuyu NG-CDF offices, an NG-CDF car worth Ksh2.5 million, and the destruction of the Ksh600,000 Kikuyu Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner's office.
Two of the suspects were hauled before a Kiambu court today for the charges of arson and malicious damage to property. The two ran unsuccessfully for elected posts during the 2022 General Elections. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that Naftary David Njama Gatuota, Joseph Kuru Waweru, and other individuals who have not appeared in court are accused of participating in the arson of the Kikuyu NG-CDF offices, which are valued at Sh20 million, as well as the malicious damage to property, wherein they set fire to an NG-CDF vehicle valued at Sh2.5 million and the office of the Kikuyu Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner, which is valued at Sh 600,000.
The offenses were committed on June 25, 2024, during the demonstrations against the Finance Bill 2024, according to the DCI.
