Amabuko Ass. Chief Denies mistreating schoolgirl to death
He claimed that on the material day, he tried to bring the girl and other neighborhood kids back to school by calling them into his office. According to him, he even bargained with the school's principal to let the kids attend while their parents worked hard to pay for their education.
The assistant chief of the Amabuko sub-location, Simon Osano, has refuted the claims that he battered and humiliated a schoolgirl till she died.
Osano refuted accusations that he humiliated the Form One student for reportedly not wanting to attend class, which resulted in the girl's suicide, in an interview with regional digital media.
The embittered administrator claimed that he never hit the child or stripped and humiliated her in front of her parents, but that he did attempt to get the girl back to school with the assistance of local elders.
"The reports that have been making the rounds have crushed me. What the deceased's family is accusing me of, I did not do.
The girl was summoned back to school, as we have done with other children who have dropped out of this area, and fortunately, I was with the Nyumba Kumi elders when we attempted to do so," Osano asserted.
I can't perform something like that as a governmental officer. I have been fighting the illegal brew that the people are buying, which has angered the girl's family. Due to her parents' insistence that she assists them in making the brew—something the government opposes—the girl was not attending school, Osano continued.

Osano accuses his rivals of the assistant chief post, claiming they are upset that he won the seat before them and are now trying to damage his reputation by using the regrettable event."The good news is that the DCI is now handling the situation, and I firmly think justice will be done. Fortunately, there were witnesses who could support my version of events.
I never beat her father, despite what he says, or shamed the girl at all. I cannot physically remove a woman, not even my spouse, because I am a church deacon," Osano protested.
There has been a great deal of public concern over the uniformed government officer's actions following the incident in Amabuko Village, Nyaribari Masaba, Kisii County.
Once the chief publicly stripped and spanked the little girl for staying home instead of attending school, the unfortunate affair took a heartbreaking turn when the girl later committed suicide, leaving behind a heartfelt message expressing her guilt.
After their firstborn daughter passed away unexpectedly, Jared Omari's family, clearly inconsolable, gathered outside their grass-thatched home to contemplate deeply.
According to Joyce Bonareri, the mother of the dead, her daughter had gone back home to gather personal items, such as sanitary towels, before planning to go back to school. She had believed that the summons from the administrator was to help her with her issues.
In anticipation of an autopsy, the deceased's body was moved to the morgue at Ichuni Hospital. Despite their deep sorrow, the family has beseeched the authorities to look into the case in detail and ensure justice is done, blaming their unfortunate situation for the awful event.
