ARATI’S QUAGMIRE

Kisii county Governor Simba Arati has been a subject of controversy in past weeks. Arati filed a complaint at DCI headquarters after a video surfaced showing a DCI officer plotting to plant firearms at his residencies to implicate him.

The governor says that no one will intimidate him after unknown people stormed into his Lavington home and ransacked it.

Speaking to members of press on Tuesday Arati says that he was attending the Council of Governors meeting when he was informed about the break in. He had rushed back to his home to find armed men with walkie talkies at his home.

“They had radio calls and guns. My question is why would they enter my compound and not any other compound?” Arati asked.

The troubling question for Arati will be why there is a witch-hunt on him and how does it affect the way he dispenses his duties as Kisii governor.

The other question will be that are the threats on his life due to his political inclinations or might they be motivated by other issues.

Lastly Arati should ask himself how best is he going to end this quagmire and end the constant wrangles between himself and national government.
