ARATI'S WIFE ASSISTS IN LOWERING KISII'S POLITICAL FEVER BETWEEN ARATI AND OSORO

Can Mei Arati resolve the protracted political impasse between her spouse, Governor Simba Arati, and his political adversary, Silvanus Osoro?
Mei has taken many by surprise by practically barging into three significant meetings that the South Mugirango MP and other well-known opponents of the Kisii governor had arranged.
The tension that arises from her husband and Osoro attending the same event occasionally necessitates police intervention to restore order.
Recently, followers of the two young Kisii leaders clashed at a gathering in South Mugirango, Osoro's area, causing mayhem and numerous injuries.
A few days later, during a funeral, their supporters regrouped and brawled, causing damage to Kisii Woman Representative Doris Aburi's automobile.
Respected Kisii elders were prompted by the unpleasant experiences to call a reconciliation meeting for the couple, which ultimately failed.
The governor charges the Osoro camp of purposefully undermining his efforts to serve the people, while the Osoro camp has been accusing Arati of being a letdown to Kisii County.
Despite the disagreements between the Arati and Osoro camps, Mei has been showing up to events hosted by the anti-Arati group, which has surprised a lot of people. As she discusses how both sides should put the needs of the people before their parties and personal interests, her being there has a calming impact.

"My name is Mei Arati," she introduced herself at one of the events Osoro attended,Your Governor Simba Arati's wife. The governor and I were traveling to Nairobi when we noticed many tents. I informed the governor that your people were gathering at Bobaracho in Nyaribari Chache. I told him that I was merely here to support whatever you were doing since I intended to come and join him later in Nairobi.
"I am not a politician," she continued. My partner is. I'm not a party animal, but you are. My only request is that we work together to support our people.
"I know you and my spouse are not good friends, but I am ready to attend all functions you will organize and you should feel free to invite me," she said to Osoro.
She makes the same plea, which seems to be warmly received by her audiences, each time she encounters the anti-Arati crew.
None of the well-known Arati critics have criticized her talks or her unannounced appearance at their events out of respect.
As a man, Osoro usually says, "You know, I will only talk to a fellow man (read Arati) if I have anything to say."
While Mei defends herself by stating, "My role is to help the governor to serve his people," Osoro and his brigade have been accusing Arati of allowing his wife to control the county, Nothing further.
Mei's expedition has resulted in a reduction in political tensions in Gusiiland that was about to spiral out of control, much to the relief of Kisii locals.
Mei is the buzz of the town thanks to her daring initiatives, while the wives of other governors keep a low profile. But can her attempts bring her husband and Osoro's animosity to an end? It will all come to pass in time.
