KINANGOP RESIDENTS STORM POLICE POST AND STONE THEFT SUSPECT TO DEATH

Residents hailing from Irate, in Kinangop constituency raided Githabai police station and seized a theft suspect who they stoned to death on Saturday night.

The livestock suspect begged for mercy from the mob, naming other suspects who include a senior police officer in Kinangop constituency.

The said suspect disclosed that the stolen livestock and meat were transported by police vehicles. This shocking revelation explains why 300 stolen dairy cows in Kinangop are yet to be traced.

Irate residents stormed Githabai police station where the suspect was put in custody. The residents overwhelmed the police and destroyed the office of the assistant county commissioner which neighbours the police station.

The residents barricaded roads demanding for the arrest of police officers involved in the thefts, saying that some of the police officers own well known bars and butcheries in the area.
