Rovanpera secured a commanding victory at the top of a 1-2 finish for Toyota Gazoo Racing on Sunday afternoon, making history as the rally's two-time winner.
Adrien Fourmaux of M-Sport Ford completed the podium, finishing well ahead of Takamoto Katsuta, his teammate in the GR Yaris.
Since Friday morning, Rovanpera has led and won by a margin of 1 m 37.8 s. Rovanpera won for the twelfth time in his career.
"Winning here always feels special." As they say in Africa, Rovanpera remarked, "There's always a Toyota in front."
Having won every stage on Friday across Lake Naivasha's pebble-strewn course, Rovanpera established a lead of about a minute.
Although Thierry Neuville posed the greatest threat to Rovanpera, his chances of winning were short-lived when his Hyundai i20 N broke down in the first stage of the afternoon at Soysambu due to a problem with its fuel system.
After fixing the issue in the final two stages, Neuville lost about 2.5 hours, which allowed Katsuta to overtake Fourmaux and retake the runner-up position.
At the end of the rally, on Sunday afternoon, the drivers took on the stages of Malewa, Oserengoni, and Hell's Gate in Naivasha.
Starting from April 18–21, the WRC will be back on asphalt for the Croatia Rally next month. Croatia's city, Zagreb, serves as the event's base.
