The elephant in the house will be the ongoing doctors strike that has gone on for weeks without resolve. This is amid tension and strong stances taken by both government and unionists during negotiations to end the doctor’s strike.
The housing levy will also be center stage at discussions in today’s celebrations at Uhuru Gardens as many people in the country had opposed the implementation of the levies. Others will applaud the presidents’ efforts to implement his housing project as it has created jobs for various Kenyans.
Other questions will be on why president made decision to send Kenya police for peace keeping mission in Haiti despite courts declaring the move unconstitutional
There are many issues revolving around workers with teachers also threatening to go on strike. Kenyan workers will also wait to see whether president will increase minimum wage and if he will add salaries to government workers.
