GOVERNMENT TO MOVE KISII MAXIMUM PRISONS TO NEW LOCATION
Government has said that it has plans to move Kisii Maximum Prison from its current location in Jogoo, Kisii town to a new location. Government says that this will give room for the expansion of the ever-growing Kisii town.

In his visit to Kisii County Interior CS Prof Kindiki Kithure revealed that this plan is going to give room for affordable housing project.
“County government is working with government to make sure that there is alternative land for the prison facility. I am glad that we have 2 locations but we have settled on one which will not be far from Kisii town,” said Kindiki.
Kindiki warned political leaders that are insighting youths to engage in lawlessness and to participate in rogue activities like damaging people’s property. Kindiki reiterated that leaders engaging in such activities will be faced by the full force of the law.
“No one will be allowed to engage in lawlessness, breach of peace, or disruption of public meetings,” said Kindiki.
