Well wishers and believers from PEFA helped a student from a poverty-stricken family in Basi ward to return to school. The student completed his KCPE last year and did not join high school because of the poverty in her home.

Residents from the area were overjoyed by the good gesture from PEFA. Speaking to Ndizi TV journalists they could hid their excitement about the heart-warming gesture from the church.

Films from the coverage showed the evident poor status of living in the family. The mother, Evelyne Kerubo was very unkempt and wore tattered clothes. The house in which they live had rusted iron sheets and the mother told us that the roof leaks. Evidently, the student was in a very dire situation.

The PEFA faithful said that they had been tipped about the student by one of the people from their congregation. They visited the home and saw the level of poverty and problems that Evelyne’s family was facing. Speaking to Ndizi TV journalists they were exhilarated by their actions and helped the student join Itumbe Secondary School.

After seeing the effect this act of charity had on the residents in the area, I encourage the Kisii PEFA faithful to continue with such acts of humanity.
