On Wednesday, two individuals found guilty of possessing wildlife trophies were given sentences of ten years in prison or Ksh. 20 million in fines.
Oscar Kambona Musyimi and Anthony Mutie, the accused, were charged with violating section 92 of the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act No. 47 of 2013 by having seven pythons and two crocodile skins in their hands.
The two allegedly committed the crime on November 27, 2019, at the Ndalani-Sofia Market in Machakos County, where the accused were discovered to have the aforementioned game trophy, according to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
