Mumias East MP Salasya faces six months in jail over Ksh500,000 debt

Kakamega Small claims court has summoned Mumias East MP Peter Salasya to appear before it on August 1 to explain why he should not be sentenced to six months in jail for failing to remit a debt of Ksh 500, 000.
Kakamega SCC adjudicator ordered that Salasya should appear before the court in person or through his advocate to explain why he has failed to pay a loan of Kshs565, 712 owed to businessman Robert Lutta.
National assembly speaker Moses Wetangula also filed an objection in court seeking the blocking of auctioning of Salasya's car claiming that the vehicle was co-owned with parliament.
