NYARIBO AND OMOGENI ARGUE OVER THE GRAFT REPORT.
Speaking to reporters in his office yesterday, he said that he was involved in a corruption ring, as Omogeni was alleging, and that his name was not listed in the report.
Governor Amos Nyaribo of Nyamira has a falling out with Senator Okong'o Omogeni over alleged corruption charges that were made public three weeks ago by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). Nyaribo launched a vicious attack on Omogeni, the senator, alleging that he was the one spreading lies about him to tarnish his reputation through the report.
Speaking to reporters in his office yesterday, he said that he was involved in a corruption ring, as Omogeni was alleging, and that his name was not listed in the report.
"This senator is using funeral forums to condemn and castigate me without apparent reason. He has never stepped into my office or the county Assembly, where he has a seat, to verify corruption claims," the senator said. Omogeni, in response, stated that Nyaribo alone was at fault for the numerous corruption cases plaguing the county. He asserted that there are no pharmaceuticals in the county's medical facilities because of corruption.
