Ruto cautioned all program administrators in a speech at the State House on Tuesday that things will not continue as usual.

According to him, the country's housing project needs integrity as its cornerstone to succeed.

"And now I would want to issue a caution to everyone involved in this program: things won't be running smoothly if you simply hang up the phone. Thus, integrity, integrity, integrity is what it is. This software needs to be devoid of corruption. There won't be any cost escalations or problems because we have already agreed on all quantities and costs. This is in contrast to previous instances where costs changed. To make sure this works, integrity will be crucial," says President Ruto.

He continued by saying that the initiative needs to be safeguarded at all costs since it is the outcome of Kenyans devoting their money to granting their fellow Kenyans dignity.

According to the president, it will enable Kenyans from all backgrounds to become property owners.

According to Ruto, his short-term goal is to see at least 2-3 million Kenyans become homeowners.

"This endeavor needs to be honest. Hopefully, everyone is paying attention. These are public resources, and Kenyans are contributing financially so that other Kenyans can live in dignity, work, and own a home. Slums will be eliminated and the proportion of homeowners in Kenya will rise.

"So that we can have a country where everybody believes they own something and are part of."

President Ruto reiterated his commitment to making sure the funds allocated for the Affordable Housing initiative are safeguarded.

He affirmed that he would go to whatever lengths.

"I want to assure you that I will do whatever it takes and deal with whoever and protect these resources for the benefit of the people of Kenya," Ruto stated. Shortly after he signed the Affordable Housing Bill into law on Tuesday, the President made his remarks.

The National Assembly approved the Bill last week.

Several Cabinet secretaries, MPs, his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and other high-ranking state officials were present for the signing.
