Safaricom has admitted that M-Pesa PayBill, their mobile payment service, has failed.

The cellular network operator announced in an announcement on Tuesday am that certain PayBill payments had been impacted by a recurrent service interruption.

Some PayBill payments are being impacted by a recurrent service interruption that we are experiencing. "Our technical team is working to resolve the issue. We will notify you as soon as normal services are resumed," stated Safaricom.

We regret any inconvenience that may have been experienced. I appreciate your patience.

Beginning on Monday, a few M-Pesa customers complained that they were unable to conduct bank-to-mobile transfers as well as payments to Kenya Power, the country's electricity supplier.

Afterwards in the evening, the telecom reported that the technical problem was fixed.

Certain M-PESA transactions were unsuccessful due to intermittent service issues we encountered with PayBill payments. In an announcement on Monday at 7:30 PM, Safaricom stated, "The technical issue has been resolved and we are still closely monitoring the services."
