Sylvanus Osoro, the MP for South Mugirango, has made it clear that he has no intention of running for Kisii County Governor in 2027.
In response to claims that it is the cause of his disagreement with Governor Simba Arati, Mp Osoro declared his preference for national politics.
Osoro claims that although running for governor will degrade him, he will gain notoriety.
He continued by mentioning a few former governors who, although having held prominent positions in the nation's politics in the past, are presently struggling to stay in politics.
"County politics is a village kind of politics, and I have never been a fan. A nation's trajectory is determined by its national politics. Your politics deteriorate as soon as you return to the governorship. You simply have a big name, but you degrade yourself," Osoro stated on the Wabebe XP program.

According to Osoro, being governor also carries a lot of baggage and makes it simpler to develop both real and imagined adversaries, both little and large.
He claimed that although it is untrue, people have the impression that he intends to run for governor.
"I want to tell them that I enjoy national politics and I want to run for president of this country someday and you can't run for president if you try to devolve your politics," he stated.
"If I must run for a county seat, then it must be the Senate."
However, he stated that the only thing that may cause him to change his mind would be the emergence of a strong, burning desire, which he claimed has not yet materialized, to assist the people of Kisii County.
According to Osoro, he will only take into consideration a request that is supported by widespread support.
"Please tell my imaginary competitors yet, and if I do, I will win."
