TRAGIC ACCIDENT ALONG GARISSA MWINGI ROAD CLAIMS LIVES

In a devastating turn of events, an accident occurred today along the Garissa Mwingi road near  Katumba  trading  center, leading to seven people losing their lives and numerous injuries. The incident, which took place today early morning, has once again highlighted the ongoing challenges of road safety in Kenya.

   Preliminary reports indicate that the accident involved a collision between a passenger bus and a trailer. Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic aftermath, with both vehicles severely damaged. Emergency responders, including the police, paramedics, and local residents, rushed to the site to assist the injured and take them to nearby hospitals.

   While the precise cause of the accident is still under investigation, preliminary findings suggest that the bus driver rammed into a trailer that had stalled on the road due to mechanical breakdown. The bus was ferrying 50passengers to Nairobi and it attempted to overtake another vehicle which didn't stop prompting him to go back to his lane. This however proved futile as the driver ended up ramming into a stalled trailer.

The accident along the Garissa-Mwingi road is a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of road safety .Drivers are advised to take concrete steps to make Kenya’s roads safer for everyone.
