UDA's Split: Writing is on The Wall
The writing is on the wall for everyone to read that there is about to be a very nasty split inside the UDA camp.
The rift between the president and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua has been widening over the past few weeks with the two publicly disagreeing even in public.
Yesterday in a Nakuru Akorino event the DP broke protocol arriving an hour after the president. The DP said that he was late because he had trouble with his travel arrangements, shading light into his claims of being denied government choppers.
Gachagua said that his one man, one vote, one shilling campaign was meant to unite people and that he would only unite Kenyans by uniting his Mt Kenya kin.
President Ruto in reply threw witty jabs at the DP telling him that Kenyans were sick and tired of politics of division and tribalism.
Clearly the two men are not reading from the same script with now different leaders in the UDA camp taking sides with either the president and others with Gachagua.
In a separate event Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen went for each other necks publicly. Kahiga has never shied from this topic and he went on a rant telling Ruto that disrespecting Gachagua was disrespecting people from the mountain who voted for him overwhelmingly.
In reply Murkomen told Kahiga that he was shameless for trying to fuel the division of Ruto and Gachagua. He added that Kahiga as one of the most senior most UDA leaders in the area should be at the fore front of finding a solution for the ongoing UDA wrangles.
The writing is on the wall for everyone to read that there is about to be a very nasty split inside the UDA camp.
