Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General sacked by Pres. Ruto

All Cabinet Secretaries as well as the Attorney General have been sacked by President William Ruto.
President Ruto stated that only the offices of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will remain unaffected when speaking to the nation from State House Nairobi on Thursday afternoon.
After giving careful thought to the comments made by the Kenyan people and conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the Cabinet's accomplishments and shortcomings, President Ruto announced his decision to dissolve the Cabinet.
"I have, in line with the powers given to me by Article 152(1) and 152(5)(b) of the Constitution and Section 12 of the Office of the Attorney-General Act, decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney-General from the Cabinet of the Republic of Kenya except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs," said Ruto.

Principal Secretaries (PS's) will be in charge of day-to-day government operations if President Ruto dissolves the Cabinet.
In the interim, the Head of State announced that he will meet with representatives from many political parties and sectors to begin extensive consultations aimed at establishing a "broad-based government" that is "lean, inexpensive, effective and efficient."
He pledged to put together a fresh group of people to help him carry out his "bold plans to address the debt burden, increase domestic resources, create more job opportunities, eradicate waste and needless duplication of numerous government agencies, and slay the dragon of corruption."
This occurs hardly two years after he formally appointed the 24 Cabinet members on October 26, 2022.
