WHO WAS JAHMBY KOIKAI?

Jahmby Koikai, popularly known as Fyah Mama, was a well-known radio broadcaster, activist, and reggae MC from Kenya.

Born in Nairobi, Kenya on November 24, 1986, Koikai became well-known on the radio for her fascinating reggae mixes and lively demeanor.

Koikai started her career in entertainment at an early age and rose to prominence as a deejay in Kenya and abroad quite fast.

Her hosting of reggae programming on Metro FM and Q FM radio shows helped her become well-known. Before traveling to the United States for treatment, she was a frequent presenter and guest on the well-liked NTV program The Trend.

Jahmby Koikai's life took a difficult turn when she learned she had endometriosis, an uncommon and uncomfortable ailment.

A disorder called endometriosis causes tissue that resembles the uterine lining to grow outside of the uterus.

It is more difficult to become pregnant with this illness, which also causes excruciating pelvic pain.

The fight against endometriosis had been a protracted and severe one for Jahmby Koikai.

She had advocated for improved healthcare for women in Kenya and throughout Africa by utilizing her position to campaign for endometriosis awareness and to be transparent about her problems with the ailment.

Koikai persevered in the face of multiple surgeries and therapies, her bravery and tenacity serving as an inspiration to others.

Shortly after making a blood donation request, Koikai passed away on Monday night at approximately 9 p.m. in the Nairobi hospital.

Her advocacy effort has increased awareness of endometriosis and provided support for people who are impacted by the ailment, bringing attention to the predicament faced by women who have it.
