On Friday, Kimani Ichung'wah, the majority leader of the National Assembly, chastised Kenyans online for their loyalty to President William Ruto by referring to him as his wife.

Ichung'wah reiterated his role as Ruto's right-hand man in Parliament for pushing for policies to carry out the government's program while speaking during a tour of development projects in Baringo's Eldama Ravine Constituency.

Kenyans have been referring to Ruto's wife as "muka wa Ruto" for some weeks now after images and videos of Ichung'wah accompanying him on his schedule went viral online. Some have even said that Ichung'wah assumed the role of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in the administration.

Mkiniangalia, nakaa mama Rachel? Hii sura yangu inakaa kama kiatu upside down," he stated.

The country's Gen Z protest leaders were criticized by the majority leader for their apparent incorrect views regarding the Finance Bill, which cast doubt on their motivations.

Nilipiga Yes Finance Bill na niliongoza MPs 204 kupiga yes," Ichung'wah said.

"Nimeskiza Gen Zs wakisema Ruto ameleta Finance Bill. Sai Wakenya wamekuwa conscious wanataka kujua tax inakatwa iwafanyie nini."

According to him, these protesters failed to understand the purpose of the Finance Bill, which is to raise the funds required to carry out national initiatives.

Hawajui 35 per cent ya watu kutoka Eldama Ravine hawana stima, wale wakona stima Nairobi 100 per cent," Ichung'wah pointed out.
