JKIA ROOF LEAKS AGAIN, PARALYZING SERVICES
Another video of a leaking roof at JKIA went viral in November of last year. However, Minister of Transportation Kipchumba Murkomen blamed it on what he called subpar work by the engineers and contractors who renovated Terminals 1C and 1E during President Uhuru Kenyatta's previous administration.
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been inundated by the continual, torrential rains that have caused devastation throughout the nation.
On Friday, travelers encountered a predicament as a result of heavy rain: several necessary services became stranded.
Terminal 1C, which serves Qatar, is unable to operate due to leaks in some of the airport's roofs.
The future course of their travels remained undetermined to the travelers.
The airport has already seen situations similar to this one.
As the government was in the process of decommissioning the facility and building a new one, he alleged the contractors completed the interim modifications in a rush and without following the applicable standards.
In a speech at the time, CS Murkomen assured Kenyans that the improvements would be completed by safety regulations.
