KISII: FARMERS TO RECEIVE 190,000 AVOCADO SEEDLINGS

Eight hectares are anticipated to be used by the farmers during this planting season.
After eight months of hardening, the avocado seedlings planted at the Kisii Agricultural Training Center are prepared for transplanting.
Elijah Obwori, the County Agriculture Executive, stated that 190,000 Hass avocado seedlings were produced, with a predicted 95% transition or survival rate. A capacity of 200,000 seedlings had been predicted at the outset.
"At the same time that they are being trained in avocado crop management, beneficiary farmers are being recruited. Each ward will receive 4,000 avocado seedlings as part of the pro-rata distribution of the seeds, according to Obwori.
