MAN, 70, ARRESTED FOR SUPPOSEDLY KILLING SON OVER LAND
The suspect, who is being arrested at the Kianyaga police station, is alleged to have gotten into a fight about a plot of land with his son James Mwobe.
Police are holding a 70-year-old father who is suspected of killing his 32-year-old son in Kirinyaga due to arguments over land.
Francis Njagi, the suspect in the incident that took place in Gwama village in Karumandi Ward, was taken into custody, according to Gichugu police chief Johnson Wachira.
The suspect, who is being arrested at the Kianyaga police station, is alleged to have gotten into a fight about a plot of land with his son James Mwobe.
Their kid planned to plant some macadamia on the plot of property, according to Irene Njagi, the suspect's wife.
The defendant stabbed his son during an increasingly heated confrontation; the boy was later declared dead at Kianyaga Sub-County Hospital.
"After the mother of the deceased called in distress, a neighbor hurried him to the hospital," the police reported.
The body was brought to the mortuary in Kerugoya. The suspect will be arraigned following the conclusion of the ongoing investigations.
