UNITED KINGDOM ANNOUNCES Ksh.140M AID TO SUPPORT FLOOD VICTICMS IN KENYA.

The United Kingdom has announced emergency funding of over Ksh.140M to support flood victims in Kenya. The funds will be channeled to UNICEF which will support humanitarian relief to those affected by the extreme weather conditions that have led to lose of lives and displacement of people in Kenya. 

The funding will enable the provision of assistance to approximately 6,900 households in the most affected counties. UNICEF will provide urgently needed health, nutrition and sanitization services through integrated outreach and cholera prevention measures.

The urgent funding from the United Kingdom will address the suffering of people affected by floods. The British High Commissioner, Neil Wegan will support the response of the government of Kenya and other partners. A total of 42,526 households have been displaced affecting approximately 212,630 people whereby 164 people injured and 72 people missing.
