NYAMIRA: A GROUP TO BREAK THE DEADLOCK OVER NYAMIRA COUNTY UNIVERSITY'S SITE
The mission of establishing a university campus in Nyamira County has been assigned to Kisii University, but little has been done as a result of the leaders' squabbles and struggles about where to locate it.
A technical team comprising representatives from Kisii University and the Commission for Higher Education will settle the dispute among elected officials on the proposed location of Nyamira County University.
After a contentious meeting on Thursday of last week, during which several elected officials are reported to have fiercely disagreed with each other about who should bid for their electoral district, a choice was made.
Amos Nyaribo, the county governor, presided over the meeting, which was also attended by Senator Okong'o Omogeni, Woman Representative Jerusa Momanyi, Mps. Clive Ombane Gisairo (Kitutu Masaba), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Steve Mogaka (West Mugirango), Patrick Osero (Borabu), and Irene Mayaka (nominated MP).
