PRESIDENT WILIIAM RUTO HINTS THE RETURN OF KAZI MTAANI
The program which had been rolled out by former President Uhuru Kenyatta was discontinued in September 2022 by the Head of State arguing it was used as a conduit to plunder public resources. While in Nakuru, Ruto stated that he had listened to Kenyans who wanted the return of the program will resume starting next week.
The president said that there are women who have told him they want Kazi Mtaani. In that Kazi Mtaani, he said that starting next week, 500 people will be working under that plan. He added that this will help sort the problem of unemployment among youths.
The program enables eligible Kenyan youth to take up cleaning up exercise of government and public infrastructure in exchange for a daily income. At the time, Kazi Mtaani will employ 500 youth from every ward on a rotational basis.
The Kazi Mtaani programme is expected to complement other initiatives rolled out by kenya kwanza government to eliminate unemployment in the country
