Director of Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) Mohammed Amin has announced this mourning that the main suspect for Mukuru Killings has been arrested and is now in police custody.

The suspect was announced inside a house near Kayole which is near to Kware dumpsite, though DCI was expected to release autopsies of the bodies retrieved from the Mukuru Killings.

Reports indicate that 10 bodies that were maimed and dismembered were retrieved from the Kware dumpsite and that the suspect only lives 500m away from the crime scene.

A police operation found the suspect in his Kayole hideout where they recovered several phones that belong to victims. It is believed that he was arrested while police followed a trail as he was trying to lure another victim to his Kayole hideout.

Other items linking him to the killings found at the house were 10 simcards, a machete, gloves and sacks.

The suspect is said to have admitted to committing the crimes even as investigations continue. Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja confirmed that the investigations would be finalised in 21 days.
