A family in Kisii is disappointed after their daughter who travelled to Turkey to work as a house help returned home with nothing after a span of roughly 8months.

Eunice Magori and her sister left the country to go and work as house helps after an agent lured them into the deal telling them that the salaries in Turkey were very good. Since, they were from a poor background the family was forced to part with a portion of their land for a price of Ksh500,000.

After paying for processing fee, they finally landed in Turkey upon which their new employers confiscated their travel passports and other documents from them.

Eunice meditates about how she worked for long hours doing endless house chores and babysitting two children. Her main concern was her workload and access to basic items like foods. When she complained about this to Her Turkish agent she was threatened with deportation.

Due to constant wrangling between her and the employers, they ordered her arrest after which she was subsequently deported back to Kenya without even her clothes.

It is quite a saddening story and has happened to many people in Kenya and in the country. The family will now count huge losses as Eunice herself will encounter psychological problems due to the trauma she faced in Turkiyee.
