According to them Arati should have nominated James Kenani to deputize him, claiming that he is an experienced leader who would have served Kisii County well.
The Kisii County Deputy Governor seat became vacant after Dr Robert Monda was impeached by senate a few weeks ago. Dr Monda was found to have been guilty of all the four charges leveled against him. He was found guilty for abuse of office, gross violation of the constitution, crimes against national law and gross misconduct. Kisii County Governor Simba Arati then fronted Elijah Obebo as his preferred candidate for the Deputy Governor’s seat.
Talking to Ndizi TV the residents expressed their displeasure with Arati’s choice of Elijah Obebo saying that he was unknown to them and has little experience in the county’s political scene.
The Kiongongi residents said that Kenani was best suited for this position as he is a veteran politician and had served as a leader in the ODM party for a long time.
Hon James Kenani is the current president for Tennis Kenya, a business man and a politician who vied for the Nyaribari Chache constituency seat in the last election but lost to UDA candidate Zaheer Chanda.
