DRAMA AS EACC DETECTIVES ARREST A POLICE OFFICER FOR SEEKING A BRIBE TO FREE TWO SUSPECTS

A police officer stationed in Kasarani was detained by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives on Friday for allegedly requesting a Ksh.30,000 bribe.

The EACC claims that Mbugua failed to enter the brothers' alleged transgressions in the station's occurrence book.

An anti-graft agency source told Citizen Digital, "The suspect was escorted to Kilimani Police Station where he is currently detained pending further processing today at EACC Integrity Centre Police Station."

EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi confirmed the arrest and said the Commission had received a complaint concerning the officer on Friday. Since then, the Commission has conducted investigations and taken the suspect into custody.
