FIVE GO BLIND AND SIX RELATIVES DIE AFTER DRINKING ILLEGAL BEER IN KIRINYAGA
Karoki claims that the deceased's family members claimed that five more people had passed away in their homes after drinking alcohol and that their remains had been transferred to
In Kangai village, Mwea East, Kirinyaga county, it is reported that after taking illicit booze, six family members perished and five others were blind.
One of the dead, according to Kerugoya County Health CeC George Karoki, was a patient who was referred to the hospital but passed away on Tuesday when they arrived.
"There was a case that was referred to Kerugoya County referral hospital, but it could not be managed, and we have reported that that patient died on arrival at the facility," Karoki told the press.
Karoki claims that the deceased's family members claimed that five more people had passed away in their homes after drinking alcohol and that their remains had been transferred to
He stated that the deaths had not yet been confirmed.
"We have other reports that we got from relatives and family members that we are yet to confirm, they are saying they lost five other relatives who had consumed the illicit brew," Karoki continued.
"We are told that they died at their residences and were therefore taken straight to mortuary."
At least four males of various ages and an elderly woman were shown sitting outside a residence in multiple videos that Citizen. Digital saw, looking confused.
The five are reported to have been part of a group that stole "California," a strong, infamous illegal liquor that was peddled in the area.
In videos, locals could be seen interacting with the five individuals and trying to determine whether or not they had lost their vision.
Karoki claims that the victims' symptoms, which include impaired vision, are typical of ethanol-drinking incidents in the past.
"We suspect this illicit brew had ethanol because of the signs and symptoms that they exhibited; it showed that they had blurred vision and could not see well," Karoki told the press.
"This type of chemical can cause liver cirrhosis and other nervous system problems, including that sign where they cannot see well."
