Prolonged flooding on Tuesday night has forced hundreds of people living in the Kibra sub-county's Soweto and Kibra South neighborhoods to relocate.

Residents said that following intense rains that caught them off guard in their houses, the Ngong River, which runs through the slums, breached its banks.

The people who live in the houses that are currently underwater are obliged to leave them.

Since most of the victims' home possessions were washed away by the floodwaters, the flooding has put them in a humanitarian dilemma.

It has been established that there has been flooding, and Kibra sub-county deputy commissioner Jacob Odidi is asking people to exercise caution.

They're pleading with the appropriate agencies to act quickly.
