LIMURU III: THE POLITICAL IMPORTANCE FOR MT KENYA

Many leaders from Mt Kenya are forming factions to discuss about the unity of Mt Kenya and how they realign themselves for the 2027 polls.

What most people don’t know is that before the planned Limuru iii, there was Limuru, Limuru I and Limuru II. The Kikuyu community hold Limuru in very high regard as it has been a symbol unity for them over years.

In the first instance the Kikuyu went to Limuru to deliberate on who would take over leadership in the country. The Kikuyu choose Jomo Kenyatta to be the president and the leader of the Kikuyu community.

The Limuru III meeting will not be as monumental as the past three but, it will certainly hold a lot of significance in how the 2027 polls will pun out.

Mt Kenya leaders have alluded to the fact that their representative in parliament DP Rigathi Gachagua is being sidelined.

Others have suggested that there is a plot to cut off the Kikuyu community from power for many years to come. The name of Ndindi Nyoro has been mentioned in certain circles and it is certain that the discussions at the planned Limuru III.

The Mt Kenya community have expressed their dissatisfaction in the way their leaders are being treated in government, with others saying that the leaders from the region are being set up for failure.

All these issues will be subject matters at the Limuru III meeting, but this will test the resolve of Mt Kenya leadership and their unity.

With all these said we will have to wait and see how the leaders from the region will realign for the 2027 polls.
