PSC DENIES JACQUE MARIBE'S APPOINTMENT TO A KEY GOVERNMENT ROLE
PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri stated that "no such appointment has been made nor has a request to employ her has been received by the board" in a statement that was made public on Thursday.
Jacque Maribe's appointment as the Public Service Ministry's head of communications has been rejected by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri stated that "no such appointment has been made nor has a request to employ her has been received by the board" in a statement that was made public on Thursday.
For the record, he stated that should a vacancy occur, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process.
His opinions are in line with Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria's statement that "it is true, except that the Public Service Commission, not me, appointed her."
Maribe was found not guilty of the businesswoman's murder in 2018, which occurred at her flat in Nairobi's Kilimani neighborhood. Maribe had been charged with her former fiancé Joseph Irungu, also known as Jowie.
Maribe's involvement in the murder was not sufficiently demonstrated by the prosecution, Justice Grace Nzioka decided, stressing that there was not enough evidence to support Maribe's guilt.
Nzioka stressed that Maribe was not suitably charged in court, even though she acknowledged her guilt for giving false information to the police during the murder investigation.
Jowie, Maribe's ex-fiance, was sentenced to death on March 13 after being found guilty of Monica's murder.
