The Abagusii population residing overseas is pleading with their leaders to cool down, as the high political temperatures in Kisii County are impeding the region's economic development.
Governor Simba Arati has recently been into public arguments with Deputy Governor Robert Monda, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, and Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu.
The political disputes have given rise to rumors of an impeachment move against DG Monda, who is charged with evading duties and breaking the code of conduct, among other offenses.
Before taking any action, DG Monda, rumored to be going through a breakdown in his relationship with his boss, is anticipated to defend himself in front of the assembly.
The vice president of the Abagusii community, Mr. Albert Kastone Nyamari, based in the US, voiced dissatisfaction with the changes occurring in the political landscape of the area.

Mr. Nyamari further cautioned that the 2022 elections would mark the end of the political season and asked the elected officials to concentrate on providing services.
"The elected governor is Mr. Arati. The leaders ought to cooperate with him and acknowledge that. That is the only way to fully realize the potential of this wonderful country.
Volatile political activity has recently occurred in the Kisii region.
Governor Arati's meeting in the area was assaulted by unidentified armed men in January 2024. When the tragedy occurred, the county executive was giving needy families education bursaries. Numerous persons were hurt as a result of the gunfire, which forced them to run for safety. The county executive has consistently accused Mr. Osoro of masterminding the event.
While rejecting the charges, Osoro holds Mr. Arati accountable for "continually provoking him."
The perpetrators of the incident remain unapprehended by the government.
At a funeral in 2021, Arati and Osoro got into a physical altercation with then-Deputy President William Ruto. This was another episode.
Machogu attempted to bring the young leaders together, but his efforts were unsuccessful.
Arati and Machogu, who ran against each other for governor in the 2022 election, conflicted once more following their altercation at a local function.
